Imagined by Architect and multifaceted artist Lillian (Lily) Cooper, Of the Valley Creative is a creative studio in Kansas City founded on the values of community, exploration, and authenticity. We provide a variety of art and design services, including custom ink and watercolor pieces, digital photography, and vibrant mural work.

Hi friends - it means the world to me that you’re here.
I am a curious, restless, highly sensitive, beautifully flawed human being.
I consider myself a multi-hyphenate, which is to say, I have my hands in everything. All the time. I am an architect and an artist, writer and photographer, world traveler and small-town dreamer.
I find coloring outside the lines to be one of life's greatest joys. I am drawn to the beauty in brokenness and find imperfections to be wonderfully human and profoundly moving. My work is both precise and organic. It reflects both sides of my brain, and my hope is that each piece feels deeply connected, thoughtful, and authentic.
Lastly - I really, truly love people. I believe empathy is my quiet superpower and that our sweet world could always use a bit more kindness. It would be my honor to know and work alongside you.
While I’ve spent much of my life chasing mountain-top moments, I have come to marvel at the valleys - the lush, colorful space in between.
A valley is the opening in which songs are written and words are formed.
Where rest gives birth to growth - gives birth to creativity - gives birth to change.
It is a vantage point to awe and wonder. A stage for majesty. The moment where light breaks through. Illuminated.
A valley is a refuge. A safe space for me to simply be - me.
